Teri Goszka is a retired educator of over 20 years and has taught yoga for the last 16 years. A serious illness inspired her to explore the ancient, healing practice of yoga. She received her 500 hour certification from Kripalu School of Yoga in Lenox, MA with modules in Pranayama (breathing techniques), Meditation, Transformational Teaching and Special Populations, such as yoga for seniors and those with exceptionalities. She owned a yoga studio in PA before moving to Sun City Center, FL. She holds certifications in Yoga Dance, Yoga Nidra (guided meditation), instructs Chair Yoga, Yin Classes and has gained expertise in Neuromuscular Balancing from Kripalu Trainer, Lee Albert. Teri has attended workshops on Trauma Aware Yoga and has a life-long interest in brain physiology, PTSD and the role of yoga & meditation in healing the body.
Her style of instruction is compassionate self-awareness, with a focus on sensation, breathing, and mindfulness. She truly believes that yoga is for every body and finds deep satisfaction in helping peers find comfort in their bodies through yoga, even those who have no prior experience on the mat. Teri takes refuge in weekly meditation with Dharma Moon Sangha, in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and recently received her dharma name from Still Water Meditation Center in Takoma Park, MD, through the practice of the Five Mindfulness Trainings. She and her husband, Tim, enjoy yoga and a variety of clubs in this active adult community. They adore visits from their adult children from as far away as Vermont, Oregon and New Jersey.
